With the SRC Elections looming, Perdeby went to find out what Tuks students had to say about the way their university is run. Unfortunately, it seemed that students were unenthusiastic about the elections and not particularly moved to vote.

Death of democracy?

In light of the controversy in the weeks building up to the SRC elections, the Freedom Front Plus organised a protest where student democracy was bid farewell. Charl Oberholzer, VF+ spokesperson for the party’s youth league at Tuks, presided over the service that took place on Tuesday, August 11.

New Vice-Chancellor and Principal

On Monday, 27 July, following the resignation of prof. Callie Pistorius, the University of Pretoria was pleased to announce the appointment of dr Cheryl de la Rey as the new Vice-Chancellor and Principal.
