Perdeby is the official student newspaper of the University of Pretoria (http://www.up.ac.za).

The first issue of Perdeby hit the streets in 1939. Today Perdeby has established itself as one of the leading student publications in South Africa.

The newspaper is tabloid sized and varies between 12 and 28 pages.
10 000 copies of Perdeby are printed weekly.

Perdeby is distributed free of charge, every Monday afternoon during the university term. 10 000 copies are distributed, outside all the buildings on the main campus of the University of Pretoria, Groenkloof Campus, Onderstepoort, Medical Campus, Mamelodi Campus, as well as all the residences.

All of the news that appears in the hard copy version of Perdeby is now also available online along with extra news and inside scoops. The online version of the newspaper boasts with a readership of more than 25 000 unique visitors per month.
